LOS ANGELES: The Academy Awards aka Oscars are still a good two weeks away. But Hollywood is known to do things in style, and had a pre-oscar dinner party, where the nominees mingled with one another and had a grand old time.
The highlight of the evening, was the open display of love and camaraderie that Hollywood displayed with grace and elan. Rivals walked up to one another and congratulated each other for their accomplishments; a feat nearly unseen these days. Also, tech wizards responsible for the glorious special effects in this year’s top films were honoured for their hard work and dedication to the scientific craft.
We spotted renowned ‘Life of Pi’ director Ang Lee share a few warm words with ‘Best Actress’ nominee Jessica Chastain; we saw ‘Best Actress In A Supporting Role’ nominees Amy Adams, Sally Field, Anne Hathaway, Helen Hunt and Jacki Weaver pose together in front of the coveted golden statuette.
We witnessed Hollywood biggies and ‘Best Actor’ nominees Bradley Cooper and Hugh Jackman share a light moment; and we captured a heartwarming moment between Quvenzhane Wallis (the 10-year old prodigy nominated for ‘Best Actress’ for her performance in ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’) and Denzel Washington.
Also present at the Oscars dinner party were Robert De Niro, Joaquin Phoenix, Steven Spielberg and many many others. All in all, it was a beautiful night where the best and brightest of Hollywood got together to celebrate one another’s successes.
