MyMovieNetwork unveils music video contest

MUMBAI: Online filmmakers’ community MyMovieNetwork has launched its first ever music video contest, “The Rise from Music Videocrity.”

The contest is open to all filmmakers, actors, musicians, directors and individuals who love music and videos, says a release, between 4 March to 1 May 2007.

“We’ve seen many run of the mill music videos, so MyMovieNetwork is trying to find the best of the best. Our system allows us to recognise all who worked on the video, not just the singer, or the director.  It is the public who will be the ultimate judge,” says MyMovieNetwork CEO Clint Mazur.

MyMovieNetwork is looking for amateur filmmakers to present music videos for their favorite songs. The music in the video can be their own or not. The winner will get cash and prizes.

Launched in 2006, MyMovieNetwork is an online community that provides tools for filmmakers to showcase their work around the world by posting their films and portfolios as well as, learn from, network and collaborate with fellow movie makers. MyMovieNetwork runs contests to find the best filmmakers, provides tools for scouting, blogging and linking to personal film archives.

In addition, each user can create a studio where their films, cast and crew are associated with the studio.
