Tamil film Maari starring actor Dhanush has already become one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. And now with the first official teaser look released by Sony Music India, the expectations have become sky high. The first look features the theme music track named ‘The Maari Swag’ which definitely portrays Dhanush’s swag as his new character in the film.
Keeping the south film standards on point, the teaser starts with some action scene where a man is smashing the heck out of a car parked in a public area. Actor Dhanush who plays the role of Maari, walks out from the car’s back with a cigarette on his lips exhaling the smoke in slow motion. Wearing a printed shirt with gold chain and bracelet and a retro style cooling glass, the actor walks right past the man shattering glass everywhere.
Now while a lot of fans have already started arguing about whether the filmmaker should have shown him smoking in the teaser itself, we think the makers of the film wanted to show a glimpse of the character’s persona through the teaser which made it important for him to portray the notorious slum chieftain he is playing.
Maari is an interesting film, which will see actor Dhanush in the character of a slum chieftain. So naturally audiences can expect lot of action, drama and thrill from the flick. According to sources from the set Dhanush had to speak fluent Madras bashai and the actor pulled it off excellently keeping the accent on point.
Directed by Balaji Mohan, Maari has been produced by Dhanush’s production company Wunderbar and Raadhika Sarathkumar’s Magic Frames. Apart from Dhanush and actress Kajal Aggarwal the film also stars Vijay Yesudas, Robo Shankar, Kaali Venkat and Arjunan in pivotal roles. The film is set to release on July 17 and the audio will be launched on May 25.
