The multiple National Award winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai (The Crow’s Egg), coproduced by actor Dhanush finally has a release date. Kaaka Muttai, which has already garnered positive reviews and applauds from all around the globe, is all set to release on June 5th in India.
Kaaka Muttai entered the race as an underdog with not much of a star cast and swept not one but two National Awards at this year’s 62nd National Film Awards ceremony where both child artists of the film, J. Vignesh and Ramesh received Best Child Artist award for their amazing performance in the film. The film also bagged the National Award for Best Children’s Film.
The plot of the film is the ultimate description of cuteness and innocence of childhood, where two young brothers from Chennai living in poor conditions with their mother and grandmother set on their quest for a slice of pizza. After persuading their mother for long, they get to see a television set in their house on which they see a pizza commercial. After looking at the heavenly graphics of pizza, the kids set on a mission to get a slice of pizza somehow. Now obviously, who doesn’t love pizzas?
Director of the film M. Manikandan had earlier stated, “This movie will be reminiscent of all your childhood memories; the innocence, adventure, unsuspecting nature and all the fun associated therewith. An enriching ride down memory lane that will be captured in the 2 hours that you invest in watching this movie and which will reward you with a memory of a lifetime.”
Produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company, Kaaka Muttai has been presented by Fox Studios. Director M. Manikandan was over the moon after the giant win at National Awards and is definitely excited about the film’s release on June 5, 2015. The film that has received standing ovation from the likes of Toronto Film Festival where it premiered on September 2014 and Dubai International Film Festival is all set to win the Indian audience’s vote of confidence on June 5th.
