Telugu Stars Venkatesh And Samantha Eyeing Piku Remake

vankatesh-ajhsbcTelugu star Venkatesh, who has a keen eye for good films in order to be remade in Telugu is now eyeing Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan starrer hit Piku for a remake. Reportedly the actor has already gone ahead and talked with the filmmakers expressing his interesting of redoing the family entertainer flick for his Telugu audiences.

And if buzz is to be trusted, actress Samantha who was last seen in Son of Satyamurthy is likely to be casted to play the role of Piku played by Deepika Padukone in the original film and actorVenkatesh is setting his eye playing Big B’s role of a constipated old aged father. We wonder who would be the best to portray Irrfan Khan, Allu Arjun again maybe? Well we will have to find that out in due time as any sorts of confirmation about such an official remake has yet not been made.

However talk of the town is that Suresh Productions is keen on getting the film’s rights fromPiku filmmakers as per Venkatesh’s wish. The Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu actor has done not one but two back-to-back films that were remakes namely Gopala Gopala based onAkshay Kumar starrer Oh My God and Drushyam based on Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam.

It’ll be awesome if this project does take shape after all. Venkatesh’s films Savitri, Radha, Vivekananda and Nayana MMS are all set to come out next year onwards so as of now the 55-year-old actor isn’t eyeing on any releases this year. Samantha has moved on to Tamil industry and has films like Pathu Enrathukulla, Thrayam, Kaththi and Vada Chennai in her kitty.

Shoojit Sircar’s Piku that released earlier in May has garnered positive reviews from audiences and critics as well. In the film Piku, Deepika plays the role of a loving daughter who takes care of her old aged father played by Amitabh Bachchan. Shoojit Sircar’s Piku takes us through the journey of a young independent daughter who takes care of her father and sets out on a trip to Kolkata with the help of Rana played by Irrfan Khan.
