Dhanush‘s home production film Kakka Muttai has been declared tax free in the state of Karnataka which is just another feather on the film’s hat. Kakki Muttai offers us a cute emotional story of two brothers who despite their poor conditions have dreams like any other kid in the world. The low budget movie has went on to rake crores of profit once again proving that content of the film is all that matters!
Produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company, Kaaka Muttai has been presented by Fox Studios. After the film was declared tax free by Karnataka government, CEO of Fox Star Studios Vijay Singh stated, “Kakka Muttai is a small film with a huge heart and the unanimous appreciation that it has been getting from audience has truly overwhelmed us. We are thrilled to announce that film has got a tax free status in Karnataka. We at Fox Star Studios would like to thank the state government for extending support to our film.”

The multiple National Award winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai (The Crow’s Egg), coproduced by actor Dhanush has already garnered positive reviews and applauds from all around the globe, and was released on June 5th in India. Kaaka Muttai entered the race as an underdog with not much of a star cast and swept not one but two National Awards at this year’s 62nd National Film Awards ceremony where both child artists of the film, J. Vignesh and Ramesh received Best Child Artist award for their amazing performance in the film. The film also bagged the National Award for Best Children’s Film.
The plot of the film is the ultimate description of cuteness and innocence of childhood, where two young brothers from Chennai living in poor conditions with their mother and grandmother set on their quest for a slice of pizza. Directed by M. Manikandan, the film had also received standing ovation from the likes of Toronto Film Festival where it premiered on September 2014 and Dubai International Film Festival.
