Malayalam star Mohanlal’s upcoming film ‘Kanal’ is out with its first official trailer, in which we saw glimpses of Bollywood star Atul Kulkarni. The small trailer gives us a gist of the different characters involved in the film, and hints us towards the mysterious role of Mohanlal. From what we see in the trailer, it looks like the actor has a secret identity behind his character in the film that no one knows about. Is Mohanlal a psycho in the film? Only time will tell.
‘Kanal‘ is the story of two South Indian families who hail from Kerala, but have spent quite a long time in the Middle East. The film’s shoot was apparently completed in the Middle Eastern country of Doha, where quite a lot of people from Kerala live. The story mainly revolves around Mohanlal, Anoop Menon, Honey Rose and Nikita Thukral. Atul Kulkarni seems to have a love triangle with actress Honey Rose, who is Lal’s wife.
Director M. Padmakumar had earlier revealed that the film’s story unfolds during a train journey. Two unknown people meet in the train and how this journey changes their lives forms the plot of ‘Kanal’. He had also revealed that the film will see actor Mohanlal in two to four different stages of his life, and thus his looks in the film will also gradually change.

The part in the trailer where Mohanlal and Anoop are having a deep conversation, and Mohanlal suddenly asks him if he ever felt like killing his wife, is something that makes us think he might have a darker side to his role. The actor then offers to kill Anoop’s wife for him, but smiles and laughs it off like it was meant to be a joke. Creepy!
The film will also see Pratap Pothen and veteran actor Innocent. Produced by Abraham Mathew, ‘Kanal’ has been penned by Suresh Babu. The film is all set to release on October 22, 2015. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think, do you like this thriller movie?
