The movie is a light hearted flick with a mix of comedy and romance. The promotions of the film were not very viral because of the huge presence of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and ‘Rustom’.

Even with the two big releases, ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ created a good word of out mouth publicity. The movie has crossed its first weekend at the box office. The collections have been average because Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom’ is still running very strong at the screens.
The first weekend collection of the Diana Penty starrer is Rs.2.25 crore net approx. (Rs 22 million) on Friday, Rs.3.50 crore net approx. (Rs 35 million) on Saturday and Rs.4.75 crore net approx. (Rs 47 million) on Sunday. The total first weekend collection comes to Rs.10.50 crore net approx. (Rs 105 million)

The rom com has fared well if compared to ‘Madaari’. The film has managed to collect a good amount in the areas of Delhi and East Punjab. ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ should have earned more in the weekend to reach a considerate mark. Due to lack of star cast and promotions the film could not create a greater recall value in the minds of the audiences.
The movie however, worked well because of its entertaining plot. If the film manages to show a good result on the weekdays it may emerge as a surprise hit at the box office.
