Bollywood’s leading actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got caught into controversy after her new print ad for a jewellery brand showed a coloured child holding an umbrella for her. Aishwarya‘s this ad created racial controversy. A group of activists wrote an open letter slamming Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The activists called the advertisement offensive as the ad showed a coloured child carrying an umbrella over Aishwarya‘s head, which they felt promoted child labour. After the controversy, the jewellery brand sent out a note saying that they will take the ad out of their campaign.
