MUMBAI: At an event hosted by Colors TV, on sets of the reality TV show ‘Nautanki’, only the Saheb aka Jimmy Shergill and his on-screen biwi Mahi Gill were present to promote their latest film ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’. ‘Gangster’ Irrfan Khan was missing from the promotions, as was Soha Ali Khan.
Seen in a royal achkan and jodhpur pants, Jimmy Shergill looked the part of the quintessential aristocratic saheb, as he spoke about his role in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film. The talented actor was seen with his ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ co-star Mahi Gill, who looked effortlessly chic, elegant and very regal in a red sari and heavy jhumkas. Spotted alongside these two actors was Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia and Tusshar Kapoor, hosts of the TV show.
Neha looked slightly different from the theme of the ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ look: as she donned a lime green one-shouldered gown. Tusshar was seen in a white suit (reminiscent of his father Jeetendra’s style of the 1980’s) and a floral shirt and matching pocket square. The quartet reportedly had a ball of a time shooting for the special episode of Nautanki.
And the makers of ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ are going one step further in ensuring authenticity. The latest buzz is that Dhulia wants to promote the film in a real-life palace, and is trying to get permissions from Saif Ali Khan. Said a source: “They are in talks with the family for the required consent. If it happens, it will be the first time that the palace will be opened for such an event.”
Further, since the film stars Soha Ali Khan (Saif’s sister) in a pivotal role, this should not be too much of a problem. Soha recently said that she was unaware of this development. “We have some promotions planned in Bhopal, but I don’t know about this.”
