MUMBAI: Pakistani model turned actress Veena Malik who is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with ‘Zindagi 50-50’ directed by first-timer Rajiv Ruia was spotted at Mumbai’s Kamathipura, the city’s biggest red light area.
In a unique way to promote her upcoming film ‘Zindagi 50-50’ which releases on 24 May, Veena Malik and her co-actor Rajan Verma were spotted distributing packets of condoms to sex-workers.
Veena Malik plays the character of Madhuri, who is a sex worker in the film.
While Veena Malik interacted with sex-workers, she also spoke about ‘Zindagi 50-50’, which highlights the plea of sex-workers in Mumbai.
Veena Malik who earlier made special appearances in several Hindi films like ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’, is leaving no stone unturned for her big debut as an actress.
On being questioned whether distributing condoms is just a publicity gimmick Veena Malik was quick to respond and said, “An actor’s job is not restricted to acting, but also being responsible towards society.”
As her film ‘Zindagi 50-50’ gears up for release, Veena Malik also has plans to continue her support to the plight of sex-workers.
