MUMBAI: Prabhu Deva’s ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, produced by Tips Industries Pvt Ltd and featuring newcomer Girish Kumar opposite Shruti Haasan, has snatched a better box office opening than the other release this week – ‘D-Day’.
However, both films are performing on the duller side, with the true winner being last week’s release starring Farhan Akhtar – ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’
The romantic comedy ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ which stars Sonu Sood opened with collections in the range of Rs 34.5 million (Rs 3.45 crore) net on Day 1. Including Saturday and Sunday’s collections, the three day total of the film stands at about Rs 125 million (Rs 12.50 crore) net. Compare collections of ‘D-Day’ here.
