[tps_footer]SS Rajamouli‘s Baahubali 2 is confirmed to release on April 14, 2017, and reportedly, is likely to clash with the multilingual “2.0”, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. Baahubali has created a lot of curiosity over the second installment of the film and is also the most awaited film of next year.

Both “Baahubali” and “2.0” are sequels to blockbusters movies, “Bahubali: The Beginning” and “Endhiran” (“Robot”). Not only that, both the films are being made with massive budgets and expectations from both the films are quite high among everyone.
‘Robot 2’ (2.0) which features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles, is estimated to be nearly about Rs 350 crores while ‘Baahubali‘ is being made with a whopping amount of Rs 180 crore approx. With huge and double budget films, it is expected that the films would be a huge hit at the worldwide Box Office despite releasing on the same date.

Interestingly, the sequels of both blockbuster films are releasing on the extended week of Good Friday i.e on April 14, 2017. Since Baahubali is a mainstream Telugu film and 2.0 is a Tamil film, the clash wouldn’t affect them and would be having an equal advantage on Box Office collections. April 14, 2017, happens to be the Tamil New Year (Puthandu) and this could be a good reason for selecting this date in terms of Box Office collections.
In 2015, we witnessed a big clash between SRK‘s ‘Dilwale‘ and Ranveer Singh‘s ‘Bajirao Mastani‘. Also, this year 2016 will witness a big clash between Hrithik Roshan‘s ‘Mohenjo Daro‘ and Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Rustom‘.
