Emraan Hashmi starrer biopic Azhar has been in news for quite some time now. The biopic which will portray the life of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is all set to hit the screens next year.
Biopic Azhar whose first look was unveiled during the IPL garnered immense positive response. With Emraan playing the main protagonist in the film as Azharuddin, the biopic cannot be complete without Azharuddin’s friends. Reportedly, Gautam Gulati who is a very familiar name in TV industry and was very popular for his winning spree at the Bigg Boss season 8 is roped in for portraying the role of cricketer Ravi Shastri in the biopic.
Azharuddin in his real life as all cricket lovers know was known to be close to cricketer Ravi Shastri and both the sportsmen shared a friendly bond too. Biopic Azhar which aims to focus on every detail of famous cricketer Azharuddin’s life is then surely incomplete without his acquaintances.
Gautam Gulati is now working too hard to do justice to this opportunity. The actor is also watching Ravi Shastri’s videos to get his character and mannerisms right. Gautam is also practicing Ravi Shastri’s signature move, called chapati shot.
With this film Gautam will be making his debut presence on the big screen, the actor was earlier supposed to make his debut with the film Udanchoo but things dint work out, so finally Gautam will be seen as Ravi Shastri in the much awaited biopic Azhar. Movie Azhar is directed by Anthony D’Souza and is all set to release on May 13, next year.
