After releasing the two trailer of Black Mass and revealing Johnny Depp’s gangster avatar in the film, Warner Bros’ have released the film’s main trailer! We have seen Johnny Depp in a lot of unique and out-of-the-box roles and this one isn’t any different as we’ll get to see Johnny in a different character yet again as a serious “street gangster” role in Black Mass!
Johnny Depp’s bad*ss character in the film is jaw dropping fabulous and will leave you with chills. The previous Black Mass trailers shed light on Johnny’s character, Whitey Bulger in the film. However, Black Mass’ main trailer provides us with all the background information that we need. The glimpses in the new trailer of director Scott Cooper’s Black Mass, show us how Whitey Bulger’s criminal empire began and who helped and made way for him. The main trailer of Black Mass also features Joel Edgerton, who plays the role of a corrupt FBI agent named John Connolly in the film, whereas Benedict Cumberbatct plays the role of Whitey’s brother and State Senator William Bulger. The film also stars Fifty Shades of Grey fame Dakota Johnson as Lindsey Cyr. As the trailer continues, we see FBI finally realizes their mistake and that Bulger has created a massive unholy criminal empire with their help.

Based on 2001 book Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill, Black Mass tells the story of Whitey Bulger, the notorious crime boss and his journey from being a small time thug who became FBI informant and then to becoming the ruthless crime boss of the underground, who evaded capture for almost 20 years.
According to director Scott Cooper, many of the people who knew Whitey Bulger personally were left dumbstruck after seeing Johnny’s performance and couldn’t even bear to look at him because of the uncanny resemblance. Johnny Depp is well known for adding his own personal touch to the look of the character and this time he has proven yet again that he truly is the king of versatility. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Jesse Plemons and Kevin Bacon. The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 18, 2015 in USA.
